Gordon Duane Roy, age 74, of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023. Born May 30, 1948 in Turlock, California, Duane grew up in the Central Valley of California and continued to live there for most of his life. He was an incredible salesman in the automotive industry. If you needed an expert on tires, he was your man. Duane loved car races & John Wayne, but his biggest passion was riding his horses with the love of his life, Connie. They were married in 1983 and had so much fun in life together. Their favorite thing to do was ride their horses up in the sierras and camp for days at a time. He spoke of this special time in his life very tenderly in his later years. Duane was the funniest, kindest and most caring man you ever met. His jokes could fill a room with laughter and he also enjoyed making leather crafts for his friends and family. He will be so greatly missed. Duane is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Connie Roy. He is survived by his siblings, nieces, nephews, children and grandchildren.
A funeral service for Duane will be held Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 2:00pm at Sherwood Chapel and Memorial Gardens, 3176 Airport Highway, Alcoa, TN 37701, followed by a graveside service at 3:00pm.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.sherwoodchapel.com for the Roy family.
