Thomas Edward Anderson, was born November 16, 1929, in Fayettville, TN., to Floyd and Virgie (Stone) Anderson, he was also preceded in Death by his step-father, Henry Emmons. He moved to Albion, Michigan in the 1950's.
He served in the U.S Army, during the Korean Conflict. He received an Honorable Discharge. He graduated from Albion Adult Education in 1973. He worked in the Albion Malleable Iron for many years, before retiring. Thomas was a man of many trades, Welder, Auto Mechanic, and he was a wonderful Gardner. He loved his Church, Lewis Chapel A.M.E. , where he Sang in the Choir and The Male Chorus, for many years before stepping down due to his health. He also worked many tasks at the Church over the years. Thomas loved to travel this country, pulling their Motor Home all over, they also like setting up camp out at Rockey's Campground which they did for years after they stopped traveling. He later sold their Motor Home, he was often heard saying , that he got a good price for it. He loved family get-togethers, he loved seeing the kids running around and playing. He was know as “Daddy-Buddy”, to more than Family.
He departed this life January 26, 2018, peacefully at his home. He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Carrie L. Anderson, of Albion, a daughter Linda M. Anderson of Kalamazoo, MI, and a son Charles D. Anderson of Virginia. Four Grandchildren, Michael Hall, Quinton McKinnley, Aaron Anderson, & Tonya Anderson; 4 great-grandchildren. He also leaves a step-daughter, Sandra A. (Eric) Ridley, of Albion, MI, three step-grandsons, Marcus L. (Charmane) DeWalt of TX, Patrick T. DeWalt of Albion, MI, Corey D. Lindsey of Lansing, MI, one step-granddaughter Leah N.(Reginald) Payne of Garnerville, NY. 18 step-grandchildren, and one step-great-grandson. Mr. Anderson also leaves to cherish his memory two loving and devoted sisters, Annie R. Bonner of Albion, MI, Kathleen (Joe) Bass of Fayetteville, TN, brother-in-law Jeff E. Jackson Sr. of Diboll, TX, five-sisters-laws, Mable Johnson, Velma Levine, Evelyn Spencer, Angeletha Jackson all of Diboll, TX, Betty Jackson of Las Vegas NV. A very special brother-in-law, William Bonner, “special wonderful devoted friends” Raymond & Sarah Collins; and loved cousin Mae Frances Sanders, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be Monday February 5, 2018 at 11:00AM at Lewis Chapel
A M E Church, 522 W. Center Street, Albion, Michigan 49224 with family hour starting
at 10:00AM prior to the service with Rev. Donald L. Phillips III officiating.
Interment to follow at Albion Memory Gardens.
