Tuesday, May 19, 2015 in Allen, Texas. She was born September 2, 1923 in
Dublin, Georgia to the late Willie V. Coney Sr. and Louvenia Coats (Davis) Coney.
She attended and graduated school in Dublin, GA.
On January 12, 1952 she was united in holy matrimony to her high school sweetheart
Walter J. Robinson who preceded her in death in 2011. They were the proud parents
of one daughter Shirley Womack.
She relocated with her husband Walter and daughter Shirley to Albion in 1952.
Nora accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age in Dublin, GA and
was a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Albion, MI until she
acquired ill health. She was employed by Corning Glass Works, retiring September 12, 1975
and a member of Eastern Star.
Nora was a very quiet kind hearted lady and she believed what the Bible said as she
lived by Ephesians 6:2-4 Honor thy father and mother; which is the first
Commandment with promise; that it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live
long on the earth which was proven as she cared for her Mother who lived with
her and her husband until her death in 1973.
Nora enjoyed cooking and gardening with her husband and sharing their harvest with
many. Nora leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Shirley (Curtis) Womack of
Allen, Texas; two grandchildren, Andrea (Shannon) Johnson, and Marc (Jennifer)
Womack; five great grandchildren, Angelina Johnson, Sydney Johnson, Chloe
Womack, Trenton and Turner Smiley, sister-in-laws, Geneva (Joe) and Juanita
(Willie) Coney of Albion, sister-in-law, Mozelle Carr of Detroit, brother-in-law,
Joseph Dixon of Patterson, NJ; six first cousins, Armetta Arnold of Ft. Wayne, IN,
Odessa McCracklin of Atlanta, GA, Ella Mae Cassett of West Field, NJ, Dessie
Mae Moss, Willie Bell Millhouse and John Coney Jr. of Elmira, NY, a special
friend, Elizabeth Carter, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives
and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Milton, James (Gussie), and
Theo (Annie) Davis; Leonard, Buddy, Jubblie , Daniel (Ruth), and Joe Coney;
Sisters, Lear and Littie Lee Coney; Lois Ricks, Rosie Anna Davis, Willie Mae Malley,
Essie Mae Mitchell and Ethel Edmonds.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, May 29, 2015 from
6:00PM – 8:00PM with Eastern Star at 7:30PM at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral
Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion, Michigan 49224. Funeral Service will be held Saturday,
May 30, 2015 at 10:00AM at Macedonia Baptist Church, 1010 Chauncey Street, Albion with
Pastor Bobby McKenzie officiating. Interment to follow at Albion Memory Gardens.
