Ted was born in 1949 in Jackson, Michigan to Eldon and Shirley Knickerbocker, who survives. He graduated from Eaton Rapids High School in 1967 and received his BA and MA from Michigan State Unviersity.
On December 27, 1972 he married the love of his life, J. Antoinette (Toni) Bommarito.
Ted taught Chemistry and Physics at Albion High School for 39 years, he enjoyed nurturing and watching his students reach their fullest potential. He also coached the boy’s summer ball team, boys and girls tennis and summer tennis instruction for the Recreation Department. He was an active member of the Albion Education Association, Michigan Education Association and the National Educational Association. He served his local
Association by negotiating contracts for the teachers for many years.
A loving husband, father, son and brother, Ted will be remember for his love of family, Michigan State sports, working in his garden, watching TV with his dog, Katie, country music and helping family and friends with whatever needed to be done.

Many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother Michael .
According to Ted’s wishes, he will be cremated and a private family gathering will be held at his home.
