Donald Reginald Wilson was born April 1, 1947 to Trimble Wilson and Mildred Curtis in Detroit, Michigan. He grew up in Albion, Michigan with his mother, Mildred (Curtis) Taylor, step-father, George C. Taylor and his brothers. As a young man, everyone from Albion called him “Brains.” He had a remarkable memory, was very articulate, and had the ability to recall random facts about any given topic.
He attended and graduated from Albion Public Schools. He also attended Lansing Community College and Kellogg Community College. He was a skilled arc welder and was employed by Union Steel, Hayes Albion, and McConnell and Skully.
In 1967, Donald married Marjorie Lewis. They had three children: Lisa, Stephanie and Roderic. In 1978, Donald married Altamae “Jerrie” Raymond and with open arms welcomed Sandra, Gregory, and Kim. Donald and Jerrie had two children from their union, Don and Nichole.
As the head of his family, Donald emphasized the importance of God and family unity. As a result of this Agape love, the Wilsons are an example of a true blended family. The joy of his life was his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a snazzy dresser, and an avid fisherman. He enjoyed watching all kinds of sports, listening to jazz, mentoring children and he loved the Lord.
Donald accepted Christ and was faithful in his walk. He was a member of Gethsemane Temple C.O.G.I.C., John 3:16 Ministries, and Transformation through Christ Ministries. He made Grace Temple C.O.G.I.C. his final church home where he was a faithful prayer warrior.
Donald Wilson left this side of life on January 16, 2012. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Altamae “Jerrie” (Raymond) Wilson of Albion, Michigan. He is also survived by his children: Lisa (Tony) Harris, Stephanie Williams, Roderic (Christal) Wilson, Don (Tonya) Wilson, Nichole Wilson, Sandra Ball, Gregroy Ball, Kim Ball, 14 grand children and 4 great-grand children; brothers: Pastor Stephen Williams, and Ronald Taylor of Dalton, Georgia; special cousins Elsie Westbrook, Brenda Davis, and Sandra Wimberly, prayer partners Conrado Ortiz and Morlene Wilson; aunt Jean Taylor Davis, uncle Sidney Justice; special friends Joseph Armstrong and Elder Raymond Ball and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, neighbors and friends.
