Clennon Newsome age 81 of Albion passed away in his home under the loving care of his family and hospice on November 3, 2024. He was born October 26, 1943 in Teaberry, Kentucky the son of Walter and Alvira (Hall) Newsome and they preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by all of his siblings: brothers, Dennis, Earl, Vernon, Clyde, Patrus Newsome, sisters, Alma Kiser, Selma Mace, Pearl Hughes and son, Jeffrey Newsome.
Clennon was united in marriage to Sandra (Skaggs) on March 23, 1963 in Ashtabula, Ohio and she survives.
Clennon was a devoted, loving husband, father and grandfather who worked hard. He was employed with Brooks Foundry for 25 years, Albion Malleable for 1 year and Tenneco (Walker) for 8 years. Clennon enjoyed gardening, fishing, singing karaoke and playing guitar.
In addition to his loving wife of 61 years, Sandra Newsome, Clennon also leaves his daughter, Carla (Raymond) Prater of Albion, grandchildren: Travis Newsome of Elkhart, IN, Brittany (Timothy) McMurtrie of Hanover, Danielle (Bryan) Stanton of Grand Ledge, 4 great-grandchildren: Reagan, Morgan, Hudson and Natalie and many nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate Clennon’s life will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024 with visitation beginning at 11AM until the time of service at 1PM with Lisa Froehlich officiating at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion, MI. He will be laid to rest in Albion Memory Gardens.
