Burton Lewis Modert

Modert, Burton 1/24/1926 - 7/30/2015 Parma, MI Burton Lewis Modert was born in Burr Oak Michigan to Wayne and Reba Modert, the oldest of (7) children. In 1951 he married Joyce Dockett and remained with her, the love of his life, until her death earlier this year.

A hard worker, his (7) children always felt well cared for. He kept up a lifelong love of flying, even rebuilding a 1946 Fairchild in his garage and flying it many times. Also he built numerous model planes. Once his flying days were over he built a 26 ft. sailboat in our garage and sailed it. As family man, he made time for his 18 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren whom he offered good advice to. You meant so much to us and will be missed very much. We wait the time when Jehovah God will reward you with a resurrection to life in a paradise earth.

He is survived by brothers Gerald, Clyde and Daryle. And by his children Burton (Evelyn) Modert, Brenda (Richard) Whitmore, Alicia (Robert) Thurlow, Crystal (Michael) Ancheta, Bart (Pam) Modert, Brent (Shawne) Modert and Boyd Modert.

A memorial service will be held at 5pm on Aug. 6th 2015 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 27277 C-Drive North, Albion, MI 49224.
