Laura Mae Kelley

Laura Mae Kelley, 85, of West Chester, Ohio, peacefully passed away on January 5, 2022, while under the care of Hospice of Southwest Ohio. She was born January 12, 1936 to Emmet and Eleanor Redmond in Fond du Lac, WI. She married Walter Kelley on June 6, 1959 and was widowed in 1995.

She is survived by her three siblings: Emmet Redmond, Mary Mauer, and Maggie (John) Resko. Also surviving are her four children; Dr. Patrick (Kim) Kelley, Kathleen (Bill) Lowe, Thomas (Nicole) Kelley, and Denise (Mike) Davis; and eight grand-children; Cate (Mitch) Maxson, Erin Kelley, Rick Kelley, Taylor Lowe, Billy Lowe, Connor Kelley, Caroline Kelley, and Megan Davis.

Laura was raised on a dairy farm in Wisconsin, and attended Marquette University where she received her BS in Nursing and met her future husband, Walter Kelley. They were married June 6, 1959, and lived most of their lives in Akron, Ohio. Laura was a dedicated nurse for over 35 years and volunteered her time after retirement to Akron City Hospital and the Village of St. Edward’s.

Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at 11:00 am, at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 476 Mull Ave, Akron, OH, followed by burial at Rose Hill Burial Park, 3653 W.
