Frances E Brown

Frances Brown, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and resident of Akron, Ohio passed on November 21, 2021 in Ravenna, Ohio.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Fred H. Brown and her son Melvin L. Brown. Frances is survived by her children; (Darlene) Brown, Thomas Brown (Cindy McKnight), Terri Hunt, Mark (Kimberly) Brown, Melissa (Joshua) Davis; her grandchildren include Autumn (Alan) Pipes, Steven (Candee) Brown, Jacob Brown, Ian Cameron, Samantha (Ashley) Cameron, Deidre (Jimmy) Phillips, Miranda (Brandon) Nutt, and Josh Robb; her great-grandchildren include Courtney Brown, Caleb Pipes, Allie Pipes, and Mayson Moore.

She was born June 9, 1930 in Pittsburg, PA to Thomas and Fanny Yakel. In 1949, she married her roller skating partner, Fred Brown, who then became her loving partner in life for 54 years until his passing in 2003. During their loving marriage they raised a beautiful family together who would be the pride and joy of her life. She worked many years at Kroger’s, where she would eventually retire.

Frances was a beautiful soul and devout Christian. She loved roller skating, riding roller coasters, crafting and sewing and was a steadfast patriot. She loved animals and bred her most beloved boxers. Frances completed countless books filled with word search puzzles, one of her favorite pastimes. She was an avid Cleveland sports fan, despite being born in Pittsburgh, and would catch any game that was on, no matter the sport. Frances was a member of the Main St. Methodist Church, Church of the Good Shepherd and Family of Faith on Market St. in Akron. Frances was a deeply spiritual woman and was involved in many church activities. She loved God, singing his praises with the church band, and spending time with her friends there. She was loved profoundly and will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, with the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 3653 W Market St, Akron, OH 44333. Rev.
