Cathy Sue Markovich

Cathy Sue Markovich, age 74, of Canal Fulton, Ohio passed away peacefully at Chapel Hill Retirement Community on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 surrounded by the love of her close family. Cathy was born April 2, 1950 in Akron, Ohio to the late Vernon and Freda (Moots) Hinkle. She was a 1968 graduate of Coventry High School.

Cathy enjoyed spending time with her family, whether it was visiting with her sister Tammy, or enjoying a western film festival or sports game with her husband Dan, family was paramount to Cathy. She loved nature and most of the critters God created, especially hummingbirds; she absolutely loved her dogs too. She was also a fan of many of the professional Cleveland sports teams.

Besides her parents, Cathy is preceded in death by her grandparents, Jesse and Hazel Moots.

Cathy is survived by her husband of 53 years, Dan Michael Markovich, her children; Jason (Theresa) Markovich and Jami Lyn Markovich, her grandson Miles Markovich, and her beloved sister Tamara (John) Bassford.

Cremation has taken place, a private gathering is being held at Rose Hill Funeral Home in Akron; A future gathering of family and friends will also be held at a later date in the spring. Interment at Greenlawn Cemetery in her family plot.
