December 16, 1959 – May 29, 2017
Jennifer Elizabeth Campbell, 57, passed away on May 29, 2017 at Georgetown Hospital. She was born Dec. 16, 1959, daughter of Rev. Kenneth L. Campbell and Alice J. McLeod. After Alice’s sudden death in March 1960, Jennie and older sister Annette were adopted and raised by Ken’s second wife, Norma (Nandrea).
Since her youth Jennie was an avid walker, drawn to the beauty of the natural world, especially in the escarpment region of Milton and Acton and in Banff, where she worked for many summers during her teens and early twenties. She earned her B.A. from Bryan College and Richmond (now Canada Christian) College and an M.A. from Regent College (1982). She also pursued two years of studies at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. She keenly studied art, including at the Ontario College of Art and Design at the time of her passing. She enjoyed playing piano and creating in many ways, including painting, sculpting, pottery, and knitting.
In the last decade, she adventured in many parts of the world with her loving partner, Paul Nielsen, who survives her. She is also mourned by her siblings David (Kim) Campbell, Katharine (Roc) Bubel, Shelley Campbell and brother-in-law, Daniel (Annette) Ahern. She was predeceased by her father and mother, Ken and Norma (2006), and sister Annette (2009).
Jennie loved life in the moment and kept her eye on the horizon.
There will be a showing of Jennie's paintings at the Roxy Cafe in Acton, beginning July 23rd. Proceeds from the sales will go to SHOP (Summit Housing and Outreach Programs).
A Private Graveside Service will be held at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations in Jennie’s name to SHOP (Summit Housing and Outreach Programs) Attn. Gerrie Van de Maar, 871 Equestrian Court, Oakville ON, L6L 6L7 www.summit-housing.ca would be appreciated.
