Hardly a week goes by that I do not think of Ron and the great times we shared together.  every time I see that silly straw hat that Ron and I bargained for in the Dominican... It is still so surreal after reading about his death in the paper Tuesday nite.  Its hard to believe that he will no longer be visiting our home.  But while his physical presence may not be here, he'll live on in our memories and chats.  Wayne would share chainsaw carving tips with him, and experiences, something they had in common and enjoyed.  And just recently he talked about how he was taking more time off this summer to spend time with the family, at the cottage, and just enjoying life.  You could always tell he enjoyed what he did, he had a smile that lite up his eyes.  He truly loved seeing and helping our dogs Kodiak and Cassie, and they loved seeing him. And he would always take his time down at their level thoroughly checking them over . It was never a rushed visit with him.  There will definitely be lots of happy, wagging tails to greet him on the other side, including our old chocolate lab rescue Grizzly.  To Carolyn and family, and Sarah and his vet family, may knowing he touched so many people and pets in so many ways help through this difficult time.  You are in our thoughts, just as he is.  He will be missed . . . .. Cindy, Wayne, Kodiak, and Cassie.

God has many ways of reminding us that the beautiful spirits who have touched our lives soar higher and farther than we would ever imagine. Dr Trenton touched our lives and we feel very honoured to have known him. He cared so much for his 'patients'. Our condolences to his family and friends, take comfort in those around you.

Dr. G. Thomas (former co-worker at Maple Lodge Farms) contacted me about the tragic and sudden death of our colleague and friend.

Ron and I spent many years working together at Maple Lodge Farms (1985 to 1996). During that time I had the pleasure to meet you and your family (Candace, Julia and Adam) at your home as well as spend some quality time with Ron in a "duck blind" and in the "bush" hunting deer.

Ron and I also shared similar interests in financial, miltary and political topics.

I always valued his advice and wisdom regarding veterinary practice and managing conflicts at work ... which I am sure you will remember.

Although nobody lives a life without any faults Ron will be remembered for his willingness to help others whenever the request was made.

We were so very sorry to hear of Ron's passing.  For 14 years he treated our pets and our family with compassion and great care.  He was a kind and gentle soul who will be sadly missed by many, many people.  Rest in peace, Dr. Ron.

It was great regret that I read today of the death of Dr. Ron.  He had the most beautiful smile and was so wonderful with my two cats Xena and Zeus. I enjoyed his visits so much, he was so very intelligent and caring.  We always talked about his wife, Carolyn and his kids and grandkids; he was so proud of them. I am so sad and will miss his visits and friendship very much.  God bless Carolyn and all his family.


Dr. Trenton was a compassionate and caring person, and he will be remembered and missed.  Thank you for always being there for our furry family members.

When we bought a house in Georgetown and needed to find a vet for our cat, who was adopted and very nervous.  We choose Dr. Trenton's services as we thought it would work the best for our cat if she could be taken care of at home.  Not only did we get the best service and care for our cat we felt at home with Dr. Trenton.  He was a kind caring man.  It was sad today to read about his passing in the paper.   He will be greatly missed.  Sending our condolences to his family and friends.  

With a heavy heart we will say 'Until we meet again...' 35 years, 4 dogs, 1 guinea pig, 3 turtles, 2 ducklings, a lot of love and laughs. A great man who taught me to love animals was to open my heart to the fullest!! Ron was a family friend and Vet of ours for 10 years.  Moreso friend.  His gentle nature and love of the country, was infectious. Always staying to chat at his vet appointments made him perpetually late.  We all understood when he was an hour late, because he was such great company... we all wanted a piece of him.. animals and people alike.  His compassion and sensitivity to animals and people were one in the same. I remember him talking me through the delivery of puppies over the phone.  His calm paternal voice walking me through every step, then his visit to make sure I was just as OK as the puppies. This guy... this guy was special. He was our friend.  He was loved.

Our heartfelt condolences to the family of Ronnie Trenton. Our family spent our summers on Haliburton Lake back in the 1960's and we were neigbours to Alex and Grace Trenton. We have many fond memories of Ronnie and his siblings Sandy,Gary, Janice and Kristel.

Dr. Trenton loved animals and it showed. He was patient and kind with them (and with us owners). From the terrifying, joyous births to the painful, final moments he expertly handled everything with great compassion ; we were grateful for every visit he paid us. I know that he will be warmly greeted by many good souls and here on earth he will live on in all our hearts forever.

Our world will never be the same without such a loving, caring, considerate and very patient man. He always had whatever time was needed to look after my precious Oreo. My heart goes out to the whole Trenton family. Truly a remarkable man. He will be missed but never, never forgotten. All my love!

Over the many years that I have had the pleasure to know Dr. Trenton he was always willing to go out of his way to ensure that the demanding needs of my pets were met.  It was clear that his veterinary work was more then a job to him. He genuinely cared and often went beyond the responsibilities of his role. Due to his kind and caring nature, I saw Dr.Trenton not only as a vet but also as a friend who I could rely upon in times of need. It will not be possible for another individual to fill the shoes of such a great man. Always in our hearts.

First we would like to give our condolences to the Trenton family.  I hope realizing how much Dr Trenton was loved will help in some small way.

We have only had the privilege of knowing Dr. Trenton for less than a year.  My neighbour had given me his name because my 11 year old Westie had been diagnosed with a hip disorder with another vet. They said we would have to have surgery which would have cost us thousands of dollars. We decided to have a second option and was I glad we did.

When Dr. Trenton came into our house there was an instant connection with him not only could you tell that he loved animals.  There was also something about him as a human being that drew you to him.  He was someone we knew we could put our trust in.

Thanks to Dr. Trenton we never did have the surgery, he suggest that we change her food and keep her immobile as much as possible for three months.  After free months she was running about like she was a puppy again who would have thought changing a dog's food could make such a difference but he did.  

Thank you my dear friend for giving us back our dog.  We will miss rest in peace.

Ron was one of the most caring compasionate and kind Vet. That I had the privilege of knowing.He took care of our animals , like they were his own.
He was always upbeat and interesting to talk with. I had the privilege of riding with him to one of the Fri. 13th events on Lake Erie and he was one of the boy,s, having a great time. 
My wife Marjorie would not consider anY other person to look after our pets, and she enjoyed his visits with much discussion.

Ron & I met more than 30 years ago in the shootintg fraternity. i realized then what a fine human being he was. Our friendship has grown over all these years. When him and Carolyn bought on Redstone we were extatic as we have been there for 50 years. they  built a retirement home there as we have. We talked at great length of the good times we were going to have there together. but the Good Lord has decided differently. The words that come to mind I used, and the tears as well, when Ron & Sara put our dog down about a year ago. Thanks Ron for all the wonderfull memories over all the years.

my wife kim and i first met dr.trenton in 1996.since then he has cared for at least 8 of our animals from their birth to their passing.needle day at our house was very hectic as at one time we had 6 pets.our animal family consisted of a mixture of cats and dogs.dr.trenton always handled the chaos with ease,complimenting our pets as he worked away documenting each on his laptop, which sat perched on our sink's countertop.of course no one was missed when the biscuits were distributed by the doc.

we love our pets as most do, and when it came time to say goodbye,dr.trenton always made it easier for us to handle as he added the personal touch.as recently as a month ago he was treating our 17 year old cat.not only did he do his very best to prolong her life,but as he had in the past,he gave my wife a supportive hug when the end came for molly.

Ron and I had met over 40 years ago while at University.  However, I did not remember that when we reconnected in Acton a few years later.  Our friendship grew quickly as we shared a couple of interests and hobbies.  His genuine concern over everyone’s comfort and well being was obvious when you talked to him.  It wasn’t just about your dog or cat; he cared about you.  He was always there with a friendly smile and a helpful hand.

One of his passions was cowboy shooting and recently we camped out at Barrie for a major event.  Ron was in his glory.  He had a new outfit – looked good and performed great.  He won the long distance pistol shoot.  It was like a family reunion visiting all the old friends that we see only a couple times a year.  Ron was doing what he liked best – making sure he visited with each of his friends and meeting new people.

I am very sad to hear of Dr. Ron's passing.  A visit by him at the farm always gave me an opportunity to tap into his great knowledge of large animal care, while he was doing his hands on vet work with our family pets.  He took a great interest and provided sound council when I started my farming operation.  I will always remember his smiling face as he saw our newly completed barn for the first time and matched me in enthusiasm for it.  He was often my sounding board for ailments large and small with all of my critters and he will be sorely missed.

What is it about another human being that draws them in very dear to our hearts? 
Compassion? Sense of humor? Sensitivity ? Or is it a set of kind eyes? A soft spoken voice? A cheery smile? Or a welcoming heart to all others including ALL animals? 

Dr. Ronald Trenton was all that and more, as many of you can relate! 
He was an absolute delight to have in our home and our 4 dogs loved him, wagging their tails and staying perfectly happy and calm while he would give them their shots/physicals. (how many animals love seeing their vet?-that speaks volumes) My daughter enjoyed his company as he would get down to her level to talk to her and ask her if she loved her "doggies." He was a true joy to every age and species. 

I had complete trust in Dr.Trenton. He was always there for my 3 yorkies with whatever we needed(advice or emergency check ups)
Then we added a lab to our mix and I'll never forget what he said. 
"Oh Sarah, Nahla is just beautiful. What a smart little girl!  You're going to have so much fun with her!" Replaying  that in my head makes me smile. 

Shocked to hear this very heart breaking news, we will deeply miss Dr.Trenton and I'm certain everyone else who knew him will too. Our vet visits will NEVER be the same and we will miss his smiling face.

The last time we got together at the Trenton cottage was almost exactly a year ago. We shared a great time with the Trenton family as we always have for many many years.  I remember Ron talking about the importance of making good memories with family and friends.  We will never forget all of the great times and awesome memories of our time with Ron.  He was a special, gifted individual who never tired of sharing his enthusiasm for life.  Carolyn, Candace, Julia and Adam our hearts and love are with you always.

Ron would have made a great western  legend. O a mighty loving  good guy. 

In many ways you were a hero to many and , will be rememberd in my heart  and the hearts of many!

We had a great conversation about life recentlly, shared deeply a hope in an everlasting tomorrow.
