Thomas T. Villarreal, 80, of Abilene passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Monday, May 14, 2018 in the Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South with burial following in the Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 3 to 5pm on Sunday at the funeral home. Acting as pallbearers will be Daniel Villarreal II, Andrew Orozco, Tommy Villarreal, Michael Orozco, Benjamin Orozco and Sean Orozco.
Thomas was born on December 29, 1937 to Aldolpho Villarreal and Maria Torres Villarreal in San Antonio. He worked for the City of Abilene for 30 years before retiring. He loved to play the guitar and accordion and to sing his Christian music every morning. He loved to watch wrestling, Walker Texas Ranger, and old Western movies. He also enjoyed to sit outside on the porch. Tomas loved helping people and he volunteered for Meals on Wheels for several years, and even received an award for volunteer of the month.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother; 3 sisters; son, Tommy Villarreal; and granddaughter, Daniela Orozco.
Survivors include a son, Daniel Villarreal of Abilene; daughters, Gloria Villarreal of Abilene, Yolanda Orozco of Balmorhea and Cynthia Villarreal of Abilene; brothers, Jesse Villarreal of Abilene, Aldopho Villarreal of Abilene and Joe Villarreal of Dallas; sister, Ester Gonzales of Abilene; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
