A Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 9-11:00 AM at Trinity Baptist Church 871 Woodlawn Dr, Abilene, TX 79603. A Celebration of Life will follow visitation at the church. Services have been entrusted to Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home.
Thomas was born on January 18, 1963 in Oklahoma City, OK to Arthur LeRoy Giddens and Sharon (Quinnett) Giddens. He was born into a military family and was given the privilege to travel the world and experience many unique things. This would lay the foundation for how Thomas lived his life always ready for the next adventure and usually not liking to stay any one place too long. Thomas grew up in a family of Scouts and achieved many ranks in the organization. The family initially was stationed in Abilene in 1969 and after retirement settled back in the area. Thomas worked in construction for many years; he loved working with his hands. Thomas loved his beloved Harley Davidson and enjoyed the freedom of the open road when riding. Thomas had a great love for animals and the care of pets. He was a gifted photographer, artist and enjoyed sharing his love for art and music with his daughter, Destiny. One of his pride and joys was an old Church Bus he completely renovated and converted into fully functioning living quarters. Thomas lived more in 59 years than most do in their whole lives. He savored the adventurous moments and tried to learn from the rough experiences.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kimberly; and his nephew, Craig Pollard.
He is survived by his daughter, Destiny Giddens; his granddaughter, Daphne Giddens; his father, LeRoy Giddens and his stepmother, Ruth; his mother, Sharon and his stepfather, Tommy; sisters, Leah and her husband Harold Sumrall, and Therese and her husband Cliff Pollard; brother, Jerry Giddens; numerous nieces and nephews; a friend, Gina Webb; his beloved german shepherd, Tucker; four uncles and their wives; a host of cousins and friends.
Memorial contributions can be made in Thomas’s name to a local Animal Shelter.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.elliott-hamil.com for the Giddens family.
