He was born in Jackson, MS on April 24, 1951 to Vaughney and Sue Wood.
Dwayne graduated from Rome Free Academy in Rome, NY and received an Associate's degree as an Electronic Technician from Texas State Technical College.
He married Mary Fouts on May 13, 1972.
Dwayne had a career as a radar and electronic technician for the US Air Force.
He was a member of The Church of the Latter Day Saints and the Masonic Lodge, and had a passion for models, history and animals.
He was preceded in death by his son, Scotty Vaughney Wood, and his parents Vaughney and Sue Wood.
He is survived by this wife, Mary Fouts Wood; daughter, Kimberly Coleman and husband Christopher; grandchildren, Scotty Parker Coleman, Amanda Grace Coleman and Walker Michael Coleman; cousins, Martha Wood Collins, Billy Wood, Thomas Wood, Brenda Wood Baldwin, Arita Wood Abbey Routh.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 at 2:00pm at Elmwood Memorial Park
