Minnie Belle Woodard, 80, passed away on Thursday July 28, 2016 in Abilene, TX. Funeral services will be 10:00a.m., Wednesday August 3, 2016 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South with burial following in Midway Cemetery in Hodges, TX. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.
Minnie was born on January 10, 1936 in Jones County, TX to the late Buster and Pauline Bowen King. She attended schools in Hawley and graduated from Hawley High School. Minnie married the love of her life, Marvin Woodard on February 13, 1953. She worked for Timex and retired from Abilene State School. Minnie was also a Foster Granny at Lea Farms.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Marvin; a son, Terry Woodard; daughter, Teresa Woodard; and a granddaughter, Surlena Olvera. Survivors include her children, Tonja (Roston) Dunman, Tammy Mitchell, and Anthony Woodard; siblings, Lura Logston, Larry "Squirt" (Barbara) King, Peggy Woodard, and Jack (Darlene) King; in-laws, Jerrel (Johnnie) Woodard, and Martha (John) Joyce; six grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a multitude of friends.
