Mary Jo Neill

Celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 22 at 10:00 AM at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation scheduled prior to the service from 9:00-10:00 AM.

She was raised in the Sabinal area and attended Uvalde High School where she met Don Neill. They were married on December 28, 1952 and enjoyed 53 years together until his death in 2005. During this time, they lived near Uvalde, in San Antonio, Odessa and Abilene.

Mary devoted her life to caring for her family, raisin her boys, and enjoyed spending time and participating in activities with her granddaughter and great grandchildren. She enjoyed family reunions and gatherings, arts and crafts shows, and spending time at the family ranch.

Mary is preceded in death by two sisters, Betty McClellan and Pat Tidwel, and brother Tommy Bell.

Mary is survived by two sons, Don Neill Jr. and wife LaNelle of Lake Brownwood and Robby Neill and wife Kim of Wylie; granddaughter Heather Lorah and husband Erik of Bangs; two grandsons Matt Britt of Plano and Wes Britt and wife Danielle of Irving; and two great grandchildren Bryson and Avery Taylor. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.

The family extends special thanks to her caregivers at Garnett Hill Rehabilitation and Skilled Care and Methodist Richardson Hospital.
