A visitation for Lorenzo will be held Friday, June 23, 2023 at 6:00 PM at Elliott- Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 US Hwy 277 South, Abilene, TX 79606. A rosary will occur Friday, June 23, 2023 at 7:00 PM. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. An interment with military honors to follow on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 1:30 PM at Elliott- Hamil Garden of Memories.
Lorenzo C. Montoya was born in Dexter, New Mexico to Elias Montoya and Felipa Chavez-Montoya in December 24, 1945. Lorenzo enjoyed doing woodworks and carpentry such as cabinetry amongst many other woodworks projects. He Joined the United States Army from 1964 to 1970; Lorenzo was a avid motorcycle rider throughout his life and enjoyed his Fat Boy Harley Davidson. He was a great father, husband, and grandfather and will be truly missed.
Lorenzo C. Montoya was preceded in death by his parents, Elias Montoya and Felipa Chavez-Montoya; wife, Juanita A. Montoya; son, Felipe Ramon Montoya and sister, Elisa Tavarez.
Lorenzo C. Montoya is survived by his sons, Antonio Ray Montoya (Claudia) and Thomas Mullen; sister, Sophia Duke; grandchildren, Elijah and Elizabeth Montoya.
Pallbearers will be Juan Payen, Orlando Payen, Carlitos Payen, Carlos Payen, Elijah Montoya, Steven Coronado, Nicholas Roe and Thomas Mullen.
