Born in Lubbock, Texas on October 12, 1957, J.D. was the son of Myrna (Balentine) Johnson and William Albert (Dub) Johnson. In 1963, J.D. moved to Abilene, Texas with his family. He graduated from Cooper High School in 1976, and worked with his dad at Abilene Glass & Mirror for a while, and after that, worked at Acme Sign and Plastics Co. J.D. was a kind, witty, loving, and very talented when it came to making things out of wood. He loved to swim, go boating, and fishing. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Myrna, on May 11, 2016; and loving father, Dub, on March 12, 2006; and a loving uncle, David Dunham on December 6, 2015. J.D. is survived by his sisters, Brenda Hudson and husband, Earl Kent Jr. of Juneau, Alaska, and Janice Wilson of Abilene, Texas; uncle, Herbert Balentine and wife, Patsy of New Albany, Indiana; aunt, Ethelene Dunham of Kyle, Texas; aunt, Sherry Bramlett and husband Rick of Sunset, Texas; aunt, Beth Brown and husband Charles of Eustace, Texas; uncle, Ray Johnson and wife Penny of Clyde, Texas; three nephews, David Wilson and wife Nikki, Kenneth Wilson, and Terry Wilson and wife Hillary; two nieces, Sonja and Ashley; three great nieces, Amiyah, Briannah and Cambriah; two great nephews, Landon and Braydon; and many cousins.
