Ginger was born April 8, 1945 in Memphis, TN. The 2nd child born to the late Wayman H. and Elizabeth (Phillips) Welch, she grew up adoring her older brother and being a proud, “Daddy’s Girl”. Ginger was raised in Memphis where she graduated from Whitehaven High School in the class of 1963. She went on to attend LSU. She loved music and dancing, especially playing the piano. She enjoyed playing tennis throughout her adult life. She loved her family and created many special memories with them over the years. She was a compassionate animal lover, always creating a safe place. She relocated to Abilene, TX in 2016 To be closer to family where she went on to create another beautiful chapter in her life. Her passing brings to a close an amazing journey full of love, boldness, a daring personality, and an inner relentlessness that would not give up no matter the challenge she faced.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents; brother, Waymon H.”Jackie” Welch, Jr.; a special grandmother, Lessie Mae Cross Welch.
She is survived by her sons, Barry Ray McCullar and his wife, Laurie of Weatherford, TX, and her son Waymon Clay McCullar and his wife Kristi of Abilene, TX; cherished grandchildren, Payton McCullar, and Cheyenne Harbold and her husband Kraymer; great-granddaughter, Kaiya Harbold; sister-in-law, Donna Welch ;nieces, Danya Welch and Dawn Kinard; numerous other extended family members and special friends.
