Timothy "Tim" Wayne Ratcliff, 48, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2015 in Brawley, CA. He was born March 19, 1967 in Yuma, AZ. Tim was raised in Winterhaven, CA where he graduated, in 1985, as valedictorian of his class at San Pasqual High School.
As a young man, Tim worked at B&M Bait Shop in Winterhaven, Shipp's Auto Shop, Jimbo's Towing, for the California Highway Patrol as an Auto Technician, a Commercial Vehicle Inspector, and finally on to become an officer for the CHP. Tim graduated from the CHP academy in November 2000. He knew from very early on that law enforcement was his calling and was passionate about his career.
Tim was an avid hunter, loved boat racing, jeep racing, handcrafting guns, restoring classic cars, and spending time with his family and friends.
Tim is survived by his wife of 30 years Jennifer; his 3 children: daughters, Kristen (Andres) Muro and Caitlyn Ratcliff, son, Matthew Ratcliff, all of Yuma; parents, Clarence and Janice Ratcliff of Winterhaven; sisters, Melynda Croutch of Yuma, Diahanna (Michael) Taylor of Colorado, Christina (Steve) Taylor of Winterhaven; aunt, Sherrill (Michael) Thompson; uncle, Dennis Stalnaker; grandsons, Kyle Muro, Ryan Muro, and Gavin Muro of Yuma; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2015 at Johnson Mortuary, 1415 S. 1st Avenue, Yuma.
Funeral services will be at the Yuma Civic and Convention Center on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. Tim will be laid to rest at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Yuma, AZ.
