Melvina (Babe) Catherine Preator, passed away at her home in Yuma on Saturday, June 26, 2010. She was born in St. Lawrence, South Dakota.
Melvina moved to Bremerton, Washington in 1941. She has been coming to Yuma in the winter since 1969, when she retired as a Beauty Operator. She enjoyed salmon and trout fishing, dancing, pheasant hunting in South Dakota, quilting lap blankets and traveling in the motor home. She has been a member of Lady Elks in Bremerton for 60 years.
Melvina is survived by her husband, Darel A. Preator; daughter, Sandra Bollinger-Edwards; granddaughter, Tammy Kay Fransen and grandson, Timothy E. Bollinger; one great-grandson, Hayden Bryce Bollinger.
Visitation will be held at Johnson Mortuary Chapel on Thursday, July 1, 2010 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., and the Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m.
