Elnora was born February 11, 1924 to George and Millie Nevels in Chickasha, OK. She was a true Yuma native of 86 years. She arrived in Yuma in 1937. She met John Earl Edwards, married him in 1940. In 1942, they started their family, having 7 children, Lenora, John Jr., Sherrylee, Charles, Franklin, Sarah and Cheryl Ann.
She was a wonderful cook. She worked 3 jobs in her 99 years span. She started at Yuma County Hospital until Parkview Baptist Hospital was opened and she worked there for two years. She then opened the cafeteria at Kofa High School in 1959 and retired after 23 years. She was never late for work in all those years.
Elnora was a true Christian. She was a member of Pentecostal Temple Church for many, many years. She left after changes in the church and became a member of Bibleway Apostolic Church. During her church going years, she attended many church conventions all over the U.S. She also was treasurer of Missionary Auxiliary for Mountain States Council.
Elnora did so much in her 99 years of life and was truly loved by all. She will be truly missed. We love you mom, grandma, great grandma, great-great grandma, aunt and cousin.
