Charles was born in Macon, Georgia on May 16, 1940. After high school he served in the US Navy as an Aviation Electrician with VP- 28: Hawaiian Warriors. After leaving the Navy, he settled in Tacoma where he graduated from The University of Puget Sound then earned his master’s degree at Pacific Lutheran University. After school he begin a long and rewarding career in social services for 4 decades. He also enlisted in the Coast Guard Reserve and retired in 2000 as a CW04 which he was incredibly proud of. He was a veteran of both the Vietnam and Gulf Wars. His favorite things in life were traveling, sailing, road trips with his grandsons, watching his grandchildren play sports, cheering on the Gonzaga Bulldogs and creating the root beer float. His motto was “Born under a wandering star”.
His greatest joy were his 6 grandchildren and their accomplishments with school, sports and music.
Charles was preceded in death by his brother Raymond Burgamy, Jr, wife Kendall Burgamy and son Justin Burgamy.
Survivors include his children William E. (Tad) Burgamy, (Jessica) and Jennifer Cooper, grandchildren River Burgamy, Max Cooper, Sage Burgamy, Emily Cooper, Lucille Burgamy and Adelaide Burgamy; sisters Catherine Robertson, Sylvia Tucker, Barbara Burgamy, Sandie Lackes and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held for family at Tahoma National Cemetery.
