He was born May 12, 1938 in Madison County, Ohio, to Orville and Ellen (Roby) Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Bob and Tom, as well as his sisters in law Sharon and Carol.
Ted is survived by his three daughters Telena, Loretta, and Angie; five grandchildren; as well as six great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Dick (Kathy), Neal (Aida), Charlie (Lisa), and Hugh (Ben).
My Dad attended Jonathan Alder High School and for many years was part of a community of graduates that met yearly. He loved going to those reunions as often as he could. He also loved to spend time with his brothers during those visits to Plain City. Through the years he became quite the adventurer, as his favorite hobby was dirt bike riding on his various motorcycles. Going on big rides with his son in law, and large contingents of "the guys" to the top of Crown King. He loved camping, both in the desert and the mountains. He also enjoyed hiking occasionally, even trekking into the Grand Canyon with his family. He loved the High Desert the most though. With it's towering saguaros, tricky chollas, big skies, and endless trails. There is nothing like the desert, cold in the morning, blazing in the heat of the day, and the beautiful sunsets behind the mountains. In his later years he took up dancing, and was nearly famous in Sun City for his smooth moves, as he danced all over the dance floor to disco music all by himself. My Dad was a bit quirky which everyone knows. Aunt Sharon use to say, "your Dad is just very special". She was so right. He was a bit of a rebel, and loved to be free. The wind blowing past him as he rode the trails. The ladies chortling amongst themselves as he danced without them. In the end, he just wanted to be free. And now he is free with Jesus. Love you Dad, see you later!
Cremation will take place soon. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Dignity Memorial, Phoenix memorial Park & Mortuary.
