Nadine Perez, loving mother, sister and grandmother went to be with our Lord on October 22, 2022. She took her last breath peacefully surrounded by family at Providence St. Jude Hospital in Fullerton, after battling a rare and aggressive cancer that was discovered just two months prior. She was 86 years old.
Nadine was born on November 17, 1935 in Los Angeles, CA and graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1953. Born to Isabelo Rojas Icamen and Connie Alice Robles, she was of Filipino, Spanish, and Yaqui-Mexican descent. Nadine was one of eight children -- seven sisters and one brother whom she always shared a close and special bond with.
Nadine devoted over fifty years of her life as bookkeeper, mostly as a loyal employee for L W Lefort, later Robinson Steel Manufacturing in Placentia, CA. But her most proud role was that as wife to the late Miguel (Mike) Perez, and mother to daughters Cynthia Chase Fulton and Michelle Marie Perez. She also helped raise her granddaughter, grandson, and great-grandson -- an overall caretaker to anyone who needed her. Most will tell you, she was a gentle soul with an infectious spirit who always made people feel their best.
Mike and Nadine became active members of the community after they settled into Yorba Linda in the early 1970s. They were life-long parishioners of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church and will long be remembered for their “famous teriyaki stick” recipe and for becoming the first Filipino food booth at the “Oktoberfest,” where their line usually wrapped around the building.
Nadine’s life was centered around her Faith, family and friends. She was also a lover of tennis matches, playing slot machines, and never missed her daily soap opera, “Days of Our Lives.” Affectionately known as “G-MA,” Nadine was quite youthful, kept up on her pop culture and was a fan of Bruno Mars. Many will also remember her selling “Noah’s Honey” at the local Farmers Market every Saturday during her golden years. Most recently, she enjoyed walks around the neighborhood with her daughter Michelle, as they would savor nature's beauty in butterflies and roses. Nadine always taught her loved ones to appreciate the small things; taking life as it comes, one day at a time.
Nadine is survived by her daughters Cynthia Fulton and Michelle Perez, granddaughter Jamie Lynn Abersold, grandson Michael Heirendt, great-grandson Sai Jacob Solis; sisters Janet Domingo, Janie Casillas, Linda DuCros, Elaine Hafkee, Priscilla Garza; brother Robert Icamen; Goddaughter Elle Bolton, along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Miguel (Mike) Perez, sister Annabelle Morales, father Isabelo Icamen, and mother Connie Robles.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial tributes be directed to Nadine Perez's funeral fund to assist with expenses. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated.
