Tomasina was the daughter of Elizario and Assunta Salza. On October 9, 1948 she married Jerry Vittorio who predeceased her in 1983 and her two brothers Rocco and Costantino. Tommy is survived by her daughter Susan, and many nieces, and nephews. Tommy started her career as a dressmaker in NYC for several different design houses. Later she worked as an office manager for a Yonkers dental office so she could be nearer to home. She worked in the dental office well into her 80’s. Tommy had the opportunity to travel the world with her daughter and close friends, her last big trip being to her much loved Italy in celebration of her 90th birthday. In addition to her sense of humor, much beloved azaleas, famous facial expressions and eye rolls, she was most known for her cooking. Her meatballs and manicotti are unmatchable. No one ever left her house hungry. She loved her family and was a second mother to many of her daughter’s close friends. She was a true role model to all those who knew her. There will be a hole in the family without her presence, but all who knew her loved her, and are better because of her. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Tuesday 3-7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Christ the King Church on Wednesday January 4th at 10am. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
