She was born on September 2,1923 to Joseph and Virginia Epps Wilson in St. Louis, Missouri. She lived in Harlem from 1923 to 1967, then in Hempstead, N.Y. from 1967 to 1971 and then she settled in Yonkers where lived from 1971 until she passed. Mrs. Ford was an executive secretary for the New York State Office of Real Property until her retirement. She was a member and ambassador for the YMCA in Harlem from 1955 to 1957. She also represented the YMCA as an ambassador during a two month tour of Europe in 1956. She enjoyed taking long drives and listening to both classical music and Christian music. She was married to Eugene Ford who predeceased her. She is survived by a son, Richard Eugene Ford, a daughter, Valerie Jane Ford and her grandchildren, Etaun Brice McCann, Anthony Rosa Ford, Arron Lee Ford and Janiyah Ford. She was predeceased by a sister, Barbra Harmon, a brother, Louis Wilson and a niece, Joanne Harmon. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Tuesday November 29th from 9-11am with a funeral service to take place at 11am. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
