Olga Rudensky passed away peacefully at her Hastings-on-Hudson, NY home of more than half a century with her family.
She was the beloved wife of the late George, devoted mother of Maria and Ksenia, loving sister of the late Walter Denysiuk, doting grandmother of Thomas and Christina Silver.
Olga was born in Lviv, Ukraine to the late Yosyp Denysiuk and Stefania Kotelnytska Denysiuk. Her youth in Ukraine formed her most treasured memories. She endured the horrors of World War II and was forever grateful to the United States for accepting her and millions like her.
Olga created a warm home in her adopted country. She undertook study of pharmacy as well as law before marriage (15 Nov. 1951) and subsequently threw her energy into raising her family. She worked in several secretarial positions, including her first job in America at the Columban Fathers Seminary in Silver Creek, NY. She retired in 1986 after eight years at Citibank.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America (unwla.org), of which Olga was a proud member for many years, Razom (razomforukraine.org) or the Ukrainian Catholic University (ucufoundation.org).
