Melissa M. Blaine

Melissa Marie (Spatta) Blaine was born March 24th , 1973, in Nyack NY to Kenneth E Spatta and the late Marie E (Holder) D'Agostino. Melissa lived in West Haverstraw NY until she was 14 years of age, where she was always surrounded by her friends and her cousins who lived in the home next door. She loved spending the days outdoors playing , but her favorite role was that of big sister to Jill. Her family moved to Yonkers where she attended Roosevelt High School. She never lost that love of being around her family members , always maintaining an ever-strengthening bond with mom and, of course, her sister Jill. She became an Aunt at 16 years old and those kids couldn't wait to spend time with their " cool , fun, loving aunt". After attending Mercy College , she spent time working in the Medical Field. She soon married and became a mother to Cheyenne and Cody. From that day on, Melissa would never miss an opportunity to tell you how proud she was of her " incredible" kids. She later gravitated to work in the hospitality industry, most recently employed by Marriott Hotels. She adored conversing with travelers and helping them to a comfortable, worry-free experience.

Melissa is survived by her children Cheyenne and Cody, Father Kenneth ( Maureen ) , brother Kenneth and sister Jill. She is predeceased by her mother , Marie ( James). Melissa is also survived by her loving family of aunts , cousins , nephews and nieces.

Memorial visitation will be on Sunday December 15, 2024 at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home from 2pm to 6pm.
