She departed this life on February 2nd 2020.
Gail was a member of Greater Centennial A.M.E. Zion Church and was educated in the Mount Vernon Public School System. College or training programs? Gail leveraged her education, experience and acumen to shape a successful career in business. Over the course of her career, Gail held key positions at the New York Telephone Company, Amsterdam News and International Business Machines (IBM) where she retired in early 2000.
Gail was also an avid traveler, traveling extensively with friends and her mother, Wilhelmina Bowden. In her early years, Gail dabbled in modeling and developed her creative side, which led to a keen appreciation for the arts, fashion, music and culture. Gail had a love for jewelry, a flare for recognizing valuable vintage items and a particular appreciation for African art. She enjoyed attending concerts and Broadway plays and antique art shows. Further, Gail was a loving and attentive Aunt, routinely taking her nieces and nephews to museums, shopping and on daylong adventures.
Gail was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Campbell and two brothers, David and Nicholas Bowden. Gail leaves her brother, William Bowden and her sister-in-law, Marian Bowden to cherish her memories along with a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Friday February 7, 2020 from 10am – 12 noon. A Funeral Service will be at 12 noon with burial to follow at Beechwoods Cemetery in New Rochelle, NY.
