Devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt and friend
“Our hearts ache as we announce the passing of our loving wife and mother Elizabeth Grace Williams”.
North Yarmouth, ME – Elizabeth Grace Williams (58) passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022 peacefully in her sleep.
Born September 24, 1964 in Portland, Maine to Gene and Thelma Crockett. After moving frequently as a child, she settled in Cumberland Center where she graduated from Greely High School after winning the basketball State Championship in 1983. She went on to attend the University of Southern Maine. She then met the love of her life Thomas Williams, husband of 35 years, at Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute now known as SMCC, where Thomas attended.
Tom and Libby married and moved to Lisbon, Maine where their two children were born: Ryan and Whitney Williams. Libby and Tom built the home of their dreams in North Yarmouth where they made a loving and happy home. No matter how successful Libby was professionally, Ryan and Whitney remained her priority. She made every day special by her energy, love and smiles.
Libby had a successful career across L.L. Bean, IDEXX and most recently LabCorp where she was always loved and respected for her leadership qualities and genuine caring nature.
“There are some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone the light remains.”
Libby is survived by her husband Tom Williams of North Yarmouth, father Gene Crockett of Raymond, children Ryan and Whitney Williams of North Yarmouth. Her sister Carolyn Fitzpatrick & husband Michael Fitzpatrick, brother Donnie Crockett & partner Becky Diaz Tufts, brother Stephen Crockett, sister in-law Kelley McElroy & husband Jim McElroy, sister in-law Susan Symons & husband Tom Symons and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is predeceased by her loving mother Mary “Thelma” Crockett.
Libby’s love for her family and animals was strong just like her mother’s. Her happy place was curled up with her adoring doggies or at Panther Run Marina in Raymond where she spent her free time and sometimes work time on her boat “Off Duty”.
Libby was loved by all and will be truly missed by her loved ones, friends, co-workers and community.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to one of Libby’s favorite charities – Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland, MSSPA or HART.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and North Yarmouth Fire & Rescue. As well as all who have reached out and helped. It has not gone unnoticed – thank you so very much!
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.LindquistFuneralHome.com for the Williams family.
