William Edward Worman was born on October 15, 1921 in Yakima, WA to Glen and Ellen (Berry) Worman. He died on July 8, 2013 at the age of 91. Ed graduated from Yakima High School with the class of 1940 ½ . He served his country in France and Germany during WWII with the U.S. Army 70th Infantry, Oregon Trailblazers.
Ed married Ruth Larson in 1951 and began a long career as an orchardist. In addition, he worked many years for Hilliard Painting. Ed was an active member of Wiley Heights Covenant Church. He was known in the Wiley Heights community as a generous neighbor who was always willing to help out with a home repairs or painting project.
Ed was preceded in death by his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Ruth, and by his sister Edith Hamar and brother, Glen. He is survived by his children, Jane (John) Simpson, of Seattle and Gary (Cheryl) Worman, of Yakima, as well as his grandchildren, Wesley Worman, Carl Johnson and Katherine Johnson, and a sister, Helen Leonard, of San Diego, CA.
A memorial service will be held at Wiley Heights Covenant Church, 12504 Gilbert Rd. Yakima on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. A graveside committal service with military honors will be held at Terrace Heights Memorial Park at 3:00 p.m. To celebrate the life Ed and share a memory visit www.keithandkeith.com.
