Cody was welcomed into this world by his large loving family that adored him. Cody was so handsome with his “megawatt” smile, curly hair and robust laugh. Cody was large and in charge - rough and tough, and often gruff on the exterior – but was a big, soft, sentimental man on the inside, who would do anything for those he loved. Cody shared a special, close bond with “The Redhead”, his sister, Lindsey, his best friend, whom he referred to as his second mom – her being the strict and me – the soft one. They were full of mischief and fun, with Cody usually taking the heat if caught; he kept me on my toes, the perfect son for me. Cody and I shared an extremely close relationship. Cody adored his dad, Clyde and their love of guns and love of the outdoors. Cody loved his second dad, Mike, who has and would do anything for him. Mike and Cody are different in many ways – but in the same ways that mattered – they brought out the best in each other.
Cody attended East Valley schools, YVC, and proudly graduated from Perry Tech with his welding degree. Welding wasn’t for Cody so he got his CDL and worked for Columbia Asphalt and the City of Yakima, with his uncles, Johnny and Randy, Cody was mechanical and could jump on and run almost any heavy equipment. Cody loved big trucks – his Avalanche and Chevies.
Cody’s standard uniform was Carhartt shirt, sweatshirt, jeans, boots, hat and sunglasses. Cody was intelligent, funny, witty and generous. He loved taking things apart – and usually could fix it and put it back together!
Cody was an excellent cook – his specialty being biscuits and gravy – his grandma’s recipe. Cody’s grandpa played a vital role in his life, teaching him so much. Cody was a true homebody and family man. He loved taking on the role of dad to Amaya, Aaiden and Polo. He loved them with all his heart and took his role very seriously. “Cody Bear” frequently saying “they are my life.” The last couple of years of Cody’s life were difficult he suffered so much loss, he made detrimental choices to cope.
We take comfort in knowing he is at peace and with family, who again welcomed him with open arms. He is our angel watching over us. Cody will be loved and missed forever, never forgotten. Thank you so much to his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who love him so much.
Cody was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles Callahan, Grandpa and Grandma Lenox, Uncle Frank Lenox and Unc.
He is survived by his loving family, aunts, uncles, cousins and Grandma Dolly Callahan.
In true Cody fashion – he was an organ donor (after much adieu) saving 3 lives upon his death.
