Tom went to school in Yakima studying music and graduating from YVC.
He fronted a dance band for 12 years playing saxophone and sometimes singing. He married and moved to Kennewick where he raised his family.
He worked in office supplies and sold photo copiers for 3M before becoming a manager for several companies selling telephone systems.
He enjoyed sports of all kinds coaching his sons in little league and teaching them to hunt and fish.
He returned to Yakima after 17 years in Kennewick to continue his career in telecommunications. He worked for 8 years as site manager for a local storage facility before retiring in 2017.
Tom is survived by his wife Barbara Carr, sister Gladys Gorman, children Bryan (Linnet) Mustain, Jeanette (Darin) Ogren, Ted Smith and Wendy Smith, 8 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by both parents, sister Joyce Cantrell and his son John.
A memorial service for Thomas will be held Monday, July 15, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Rainier Memorial Center, 2807 Terrace Heights Dr., Yakima, Washington 98901.
