was born June 11, 1949 in Sunnyside, Washington to Willard and Ora Griffin. He married
the love of his life, Sharon, in November 1975.
First and foremost, Bob loved and cared about his wife, Sharon, and their families, moms,
dads, sisters and brothers, aunts and uncles. Caring for family was his priority.
Bob loved new experiences and had multiple vocations and pastimes throughout his life. He
tried everything and stuck with many. Early on he and Sharon enjoyed traveling Washington
state hiking and visiting small towns and eventually bought a small open cabin in the Blue
Mountains. In his 30’s, Bob learned to fly and bought a small plane which he loved flying
around the Puget Sound area.
Bob was a wonderful woodworker and builder. He remodeled three homes and built his last
beautiful home which he enjoyed and loved with his wife. He had a wonderful eye, excellent
taste and the ability to recreate his visions with artistry and love.
Possibly his favorite pastime was bicycling, traveling long distances year round seven days
a week for most of his life. Even after a rib injury, he only stopped for a couple of weeks.
Bob studied Photography at the California Art Institute in L.A. and continued to pursue it for
the rest of his life. Sharon and Bob slowly developed an interest in fine art and their
collection grew throughout the years. One of their favorite artists is Cheryl Hahn from
Yakima, Washington.
Bob was an avid reader of books, magazines, and newspapers. He had a love of
knowledge and was always up on the latest news, technology, and current events. Bob was
a gourmet cook, creating vegetarian masterpieces for family and friends. He shared his love
of music, his eye for beauty, and his appreciation for the arts with so many of us.
Bob had a humorous side and loved to tease and make us laugh. He was loved for his
kindness, his gentleness, his fun-loving nature.
He will be hugely missed by us all. Graveside services will be held at Tahoma Cemetery in
Yakima, Washington at 12:00 noon on Thursday, September 14, 2023. All are welcome.
