Lorraine was born to Francis and Elenor (Jostes) Feser on July 13, 1942. She was raised in the Wenas on the family farm, graduating from Naches High School in 1960. She served in the United States Army (WAC) until 1962. She continued her nursing training and served as a registered nurse in the Yakima and Portland, Oregon areas until her retirement in 2010.
She spent many years as a 4H leader and superintendent while helping her son show cattle. She was a Junior Advisor and board member for the Oregon Limousin Breeders Association. She was an active member of both the Daughters of the Pioneers of Washington and the American Legion Auxiliary, holding several board positions at the state and local levels. She continued to support the Central Washington Agricultural Museum after the death of her parents who were life long members.
She is survived by one son, Philip Genz(Angela) of Port Orchard, WA and two grandsons Brock and Edward Genz; two brothers, Gary Feser of Yakima and John Feser(Carol) of Auburn, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday August 9, 2013 at the Rainier Memorial Center, 2807 Terrace Heights Drive, Yakima, WA. Interment will be at Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in memory of Phyllis Genz may be made to the Daughters of the Pioneers of Washington or to the American Legion Auxiliary in care of Keith & Keith Funeral Home.
