Marge was born April 23, 1927 at Ellensburg General Hospital to Edna Blanche and Eldridge Alfonso Smith. She grew up in Ellensburg, graduating from Ellensburg High School in 1945. After graduating, she applied and was accepted into the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing, starting in September 1945 and graduating in June 1948.
During all those precious years, Marge met and made many friends wherever she went - friendships that lasted her entire life.
Marge met her future husband H.H. “Hank” Weeber through her “charge nurse” and “future sister-in-law”, Orean Weeber on a blind date. Marge and Hank Weeber were married on October 22, 1949 in Ellensburg. They settled in the Yakima Valley, where Marge worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Yakima Convalescent Home, and retiring her career as the Director of Nursing at the Chalet Convalescent Home for over eighteen years.
Marge thoroughly enjoyed her weekends and vacations with Hank by touring through Europe, nursing conventions to Russia or playing numerous rounds of golf. They loved dancing together. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends at their cabin.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents, Blanche and Eldridge Smith; her husband, Hank Weeber in 1987; her oldest daughter, Gayle M. Worrell in 1991; brother, Mac Smith in 1979; infant sister, Elaine Smith; and by her loving dog “Muffy” in 2009.
Marge is survived by two children, Paul Weeber of Federal Way and Marsha Tarango of Yakima; son-in-law, Steven Worrell of Black Hawk, Colorado; grandchildren, Megan Weeber, Heather (Isaac) Gebhart, Stacy Tarango, Sarah (Jake) Eakin, Beth Tarango, and Brandon Tarango; and great-grandsons, Zachariah and Benjamin. Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Ruth Mary (Terry) Petersen of Federal Way and many nieces and nephews.
