With the backdrop of a beautiful sunset, Larry J. Moser, 78, passed away at home surrounded by his loving wife and children on March 31, 2025. He was born on March 7, 1947, in Yakima, WA, to Lawrence and Katie Moser (Stach). Larry graduated from Marquette High School in 1965 and joined the U.S. Army in 1966. He trained at Fort Ord, CA, and was stationed at the Army Education Center in Bremerhaven, West Germany. On July 20, 1969, Larry was honorably discharged from active duty. He was always fond of the significance of this day, as it was the first time astronauts landed on the moon.
Larry met his wife of 52 years, Diane (Taylor) in 1972, and they married later that year. In the spring of 1976, Larry graduated from Central Washington University with a Bachelor’s of Art Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. He began his career at Yakima Federal Savings & Loan Association (Yakima) and then transferred to their Prosser branch in 1978. In 1982, Larry took the position of Financial Administrator for Benton County Public Works and retired after 31 years.
Larry loved spending time with family, especially when that time was spent in the mountains. He enjoyed playing keno tournaments, and learning about the endless wonders of outer space. He was quick witted and easily made people laugh with his sense of humor.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Katie, and brother Johnny. Larry is survived by his wife Diane, son Aaron (Montine), daughter Annie (Sara), sister Rose Seaman, and brother Ron Moser (Cathy). He has two grandchildren, Brayden and Kami.
Larry’s viewing will be at Langevin on April 21st from 5:00PM to 6:00PM with a Rosary ceremony starting at 6:00PM. The funeral will be held April 22nd at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10:00AM followed by a graveside proceeding at Terrace Heights Memorial Park. A catered reception will be held in the Terrace Heights Grange after the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, Larry requested donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
