Kimberly Kay Folk joined our Heavenly Father on Thursday, April 4, 2019 having passed away peacefully in the home of her sister and best friend, René LaCoursiere (Frye), per Kim’s wishes. Both René and Jeffrey Lanich, the love of Kim’s life for 30 years, provided 24/7 care and attention for 37 days, where she spent every moment surrounded by family and immersed in joy.
Kim was born January 16, 1961 in Yakima, and attended Broadway Elementary, Lewis & Clark Junior High, and A.C. Davis High School. She spent her working years managing a variety of businesses and adored her career in retail.
She has now joined her father Gerald Folk Sr., mother Pearl Hauser, and stepfather Leroy Hauser in Heaven.
Kim is survived by her fiancé Jeffrey Lanich of Yakima; her sisters René LaCoursiere (Jim Frye) and Shirelle Turel of Yakima; her brother Gerald Folk Jr. (Soonyi) of Colorado Springs, CO; three step-siblings, Leroy “Butch” Hauser (Laurie) of Tonasket, WA; Brian Hauser (Duangporn) of Big Lake, AK; and Tracie Koontz (Michael) of Pahoa, HI; and many adoring nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Heartlinks Hospice & Palliative Care for the outstanding care they provided, and asks only for your thoughts and prayers through this time of mourning as Kim requested no burial services.
Your presence we miss, your memory we treasure, loving you always, forgetting you never.
