Kathy was a Selah Hi  graduate 2 years behind me but I knew her through these younger years and observed how she contributed to our beautiful Yakima valley as time went on. I knew she was destined to be a mover and a shaker as in her school years. What a beautiful legacy you have left for all of us.  I always admired you and pray you are now at peace with the loved ones who have gone before you. God bless you and your family Kathy. 

I worked with Kathy for 7 of the years that she was CEO of the Yakima Valley Visitors & Convention Bureau. She was a smart, strong woman and leader (with a warmth about her in private moments that I especially cherish). I learned a lot from her about business, leadership and managing which I believe helped me in my own life and career, and value the opportunities she gave me when she was my supervisor, as well as the trust and friendship we shared as the years passed. I will always remember her fondly.

Kathy was a true champion of Yakima. She broke through the glass ceiling and mentored so many along the way. Her bright smile and genuine compassion will be warmly remembered. She brightened my day each time I saw her. I hope she is at peace.

I didn't know Kathy before she moved into our community but I enjoyed getting to know her.   She was a fighter to the end.   I'm so glad we became friends during her time here.   She was a true inspiration.

On behalf of the Greater Yakima Chamber of Commerce we would like to state what an honor and pleasure it was to work with Kathy on many occasions.  It is with a heavy heart that we heard of her passing.  She was the eminent professional and lady always.   We will hold her family and love ones in prayer!

Aaron and family,

I had the great pleasure of working with and being friends with Kathy for more than two decades, and I was honored to follow her as the CEO of the visitors and convention bureau. She was a champion for her community and the people of Yakima, and was very caring to her friends and family.  She had a smile that could light up the room .   Kathy will be greatly missed.

I didn’t know Kathy when she was the Mayor of Yakima. I just met her in the last two years and knew her as my good friend and neighbor. We would laugh and tell stories over a glass of wine, but I knew I could always depend on her to give me the common sense advice and the hard truth, if I asked her. I love my friend and I miss her, as I am sure many others do, too.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your mom.  She was such a wonderful lady and will truly be missed.  I worked with her at the Convention Center for  several years, and had the utmost respect for her.  She was tough, but I loved her and learned so much from her.
