Janet Mary (Carl) Taylor, of Yakima, WA, was called to heaven on January 6, 2019, at the age of 91. Janet was born on June 14, 1927. The daughter of Ernest and Mayme Carl of Harrah, WA, she was raised in the small farming town of Harrah, WA, and graduated from White Swan High School in 1945. Jan married her first husband, Lloyd Rivard in 1947 and together they raised their son Terry Rivard.
Later she would marry Larry Taylor and have many wonderful years together until his death in 1997.
In her late teens, Jan was a part of a local band called The Blue Jackets. Her passion was always playing the piano, either with the band or just for family entertainment. In the early seventies, Jan purchased and owned The Perky Poodle Salon, a dog clipping service in Yakima, WA. Jan loved watching the cooking channels and was famous for her special spaghetti sauce recipe. She very much enjoyed getting together for different celebrations and spending time with family and will be greatly missed by all of them.
Janet is survived by her son Terry Rivard and brother Willard Carl (Ruth) both of Yakima, WA, along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, husband (Larry Taylor), Uncle Roy Dane, and numerous other family members.
Service will be held at Langevin El Paraiso, 1010 W. Yakima Avenue, Yakima, WA on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 12 PM following a graveside service at Calvary Cemetery.
