Frieda Brumley Perry Morford died January 1, 2014 in the Cottage in The Meadow here in Yakima, WA. Frieda was born in Chadwick, Missouri on June 10, 1917 to William "Ben" and Martha Floyd Brumley. In 1933 the family moved from Missouri to Mabton, Washington. In 1935 Frieda graduated from Mabton High School.
In 1937 she married Delton Perry. To that union was born two daughters.
Frieda was active in several civic organizations including VFW, Eagles, and the PTA.
During this time she worked for Jess Barbers, Millers Department Store and the Bon Marche.
In 1962 she married the love of her life Walter Morford. Walt passed away in 1978.
After being widowed for several years she met Ray Walker. She and Ray became wonderful companions. They enjoyed traveling the world, dancing, the casino and especially a card club with their very special friends.
Frieda is survived by her daughters, Muriel (Gerald) Pyle of Yakima and MaryLee (Paul) Murphy of Palm Desert, CA; grandchildren, Susan Chisum, Brent Gerritsen, Daniel Gerritsen, Stephanie Bozick, Ryon Browning, Peter Pyle, Monty Pyle, Leslie Lamer, Stephanie Murphy Smith and 19 great grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Ray of Midland, TX and Lucy Cooper of Vancouver, WA. In addition she is survived by many nieces and nephews and a very special niece, Marti Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Angie Brumley; her husband, Walt Morford; sister, Agnes Gobel Duncan; brothers, Walter, Charley, Jim and Paul Brumley.
Viewing and visitation will be at Langevin -Mussetter Funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM on Friday January 10, 2014. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday January 11, 2014 in the Rainier Memorial Center, located at 2807 Terrace Heights Drive. Concluding services and burial will follow in the Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Yakima VFW Post #379 or charity of the donor’s choice.
