Eleanor Hester passed away at home with family after a brief struggle with lung cancer on November 11th. Eleanor was born to Carl and Bess Ellyson in their home on May 6, 1929 in San Francisco. The family moved to Yakima shortly thereafter. Eleanor attended Nob Hill Elementary and graduated from Yakima High School in 1947.She worked at Pay Less Drug store in the office. Met her future husband Bob at the State Fair in September 1949 and they were married the following year in September in Naches. Lived on 4th Ave. where Bob Jr. was born. They moved to Broken Wheel Ranch in West Valley in 1956. Shortly after Connie was born and then Jim later. Eleanor worked for Hendrick's Egg Farm, and then moved over to work for West Valley School District in the lunch program. Eleanor received an outstanding service award from West Valley School District. Eleanor and Bob volunteered their services at West Valley Fair working with the 4-H and FFA programs. They were also involved with the Central Washington Antique Farm Equipment in Union Gap. They enjoyed camping, fishing, skiing at Satus Pass. They took their kids to Goose Prairie and the Bumping Lake area and Disneyland in a camper. They continued traveling after retirement with RV trips to Alaska and Branson. They also traveled to Fiji, Mexico, Hawaii, British Columbia and a cruise through the Panama Canal. They worked on a 1929 Ford Model T flatbed and had placed it in several parades and lighted parades in the Yakima Valley. She enjoyed going out dancing at the American Legion, VFW and Eagles. She was active clear to the end with Taco Tuesday, and her kids getting a call that they were having their second beverage at the local tavern with dinner.
Eleanor is survived by her husband Bob and children Bob Jr (Glenda), Connie, and Jim (Lydia). Grandkids Miles (Tamara), Amy, Jenna (Jeremy), Cassie (Matt) and T.J. (Taylor). Great Grandkids Kaleb, Justin, Jaxon, Sophia, Parker, Maverick, and River. Eleanor loved her many nieces, nephews and friends. Always looked forward to seeing them, spending time with them or playing cards.

Funeral services will be held at Keith and Keith, 902 W. Yakima on Wednesday, November 23rd at Noon, and a Celebration of Life to follow.
