Diane I. Baird

Born March 10, 1949 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Yakima, WA to Harry and Vera Abrams. Lived in Selah most of her life and graduated class of 1968. She had an older sister and 2 older brothers, 2 younger sisters and a younger brother.

In February of 1966 while at the Yakima library while working on a history term paper, she met a guy named Ron Powell form East Valley and after their first date fell in love with him. They broke up in April 1969 and 4 months later Brett Allen Powell was born.

In 1971, she started dating Norm Baird and they married July 4, 1972. They went to court and got Norms 3 kids, so she really had her hands full with a total of 4 children. In 1974, norm adopted Brett and on July 4, 1976 daughter Chrystal was born so that was a total of 5 children, and she said no more kids.

Throughout her life she worked at 2 sewing factories, fruit warehouses, went to YVC and Perry Tech to become a Machinist while working at 7-11 at night. After YV Tech she worked at Dowdy Aero Space then she worked at Toppenish Police Department. Her last job was 24 years at Walmart. 23 years in the hardware department. She was a grace of all trades.

She now joins both her parents her Sister, Harold, Arlene, Brother Keny, Husband Norm, Brother Chuck and Step Children Anna.

She leaves behind children Brett, Allen, Bobby, Freda, Chrystal, Will, grandchildren Kayla (Matthew) Cheyenne, Haylie, Shaylinda, Makenzie, Zack, Brooke, Justina, Kailei and Bobbi Jo. and great granddaughter Rosemary, grandson Gage, Sisters Candy (Gary), Amy and baby brother Carl.

She had arthritis and allergy problems her whole life and it went into C.O.P.D.

Thanks goes out to every one of the Hospice service and friends, Sharon Echo, Brenda Joan, Vee and Theresa Sue and Shirley.

There will be no Funeral because she couldn’t visit our smell the flowers.
