Craig was born September 19, 1947 in Yakima, WA at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.
In 1965, Craig graduated from Naches Valley High School and continued his education at Yakima Valley Community College. He later began working for what became Yakima Valley Co-Op where he worked in various capacities until he retired.
Craig joined and served in the Army National Guard for six years, reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was also a volunteer fire fighter for the Gleed Fire Department, retiring after thirty years of service. He was a member of the Gleed Lions Club and served as president for a time. He also volunteered for the Union Gospel Mission and was a member of Central Lutheran Church.
Craig’s favorite times include family trips to Lincoln City, OR, traveling throughout the Pacific Northwest and Canada to his sons’ sporting events, and he was an avid reader.
Craig was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Gwynedd Stickney.
Craig was a loving and caring husband to his wife as well as an active and supportive father to his three sons. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Eva; his three sons Christopher Stickney, Eric (Jessica) Stickney, and David Stickney; sister Judy (Jack) Radosevich; granddaughter Scarlett Stickney; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Keith & Keith Funeral Home.
A service will be held at Central Lutheran Church in Yakima on Thursday, March 12th at 11:00 a.m.
Memorials in his name may be made to the Union Gospel Mission, the Gleed Fire Department, or a charity of your choice.
