Cliff was born and raised on a farm near Sunnyside. He, his father and his brothers milked 22 cows before and after school, as well as performing many other chores. He walked to school almost 7 miles, uphill in both directions. Cliff met his wife Valeta in high school. They were married in 1942 and were about to celebrate their 71st anniversary. Valeta has received many ‘condolences’ over the years.
Cliff enlisted in the Army Air Force during WWII, returning to Yakima following his discharge. He worked for a local camera store for 11 years before opening his own store - - Cliff Miller’s Cameras with Valeta in 1956. Over the years his great delight was in his customers. When you met Cliff he was immediately your friend. He retired in 1980 and since that time he enjoyed golf, gardening and his computer.
Cliff received many recognitions including: Past President Yakima Chamber of Commerce, Past President Yakima Rotary Club, Past President Knife and Fork Club, Past President Yakima Credit Bureau, past foreman of every jury on which he served, past member of B.P.O.E., past member of Yakima Country Club, past member of Bible Study Fellowship as well as being an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife Valeta, two sons, Dave (Carol) and Kevin, ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Cliff’s faith in God is firm and he is forever at home with the LORD.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Wesley United Methodist Church.
