Charlotte attended elementary and high school in Naches, Washington. She then worked as a teller at Naches Bank where she met, and later married, Ivan Scott in 1945. In 1947, she and Ivan purchased a fruit ranch in Selah. There she lived for 54 years, meeting the demands of the orchard business.
She raised two sons, Robert and Franklin. Frank developed type 1 diabetes at the age of 5. Charlotte devoted herself to providing the outstanding care required by his condition.
Charlotte loved animals, wild and domestic. There was never a time that the ranch didn’t have rescue dogs, cats, and horses about. Charlotte also loved the mountains. In fact, in 1968 she climbed Mt. Adams and then a second time the following year with her son, Bob. Mt. Rainier and Mt. Adams were often visible from the ranch and she never tired of looking at them, especially at sunset. She and her family made many trips to the mountains. She could never get her fill of the solitude the forest provided as she wandered looking for colorful rocks.
Charlotte is survived by her two sons, Robert and his wife Melody, and Franklin and his wife Becky; three grandchildren, Shane, Brendon, and Katie; and eight great grandchildren, Piper, Zoey, Dane, Calisha, Houston, Emery, Willa, and Clara.
Per Charlotte’s wishes, there are no services planned.
