Charlotte passed away at Cottage in the Meadow on January 3, 2024 with her twin daughters by her side.
Charlotte was raised by her father’s sisters Rozella, Mabel and Nellie. Charlotte attended college in Seattle and Yakima Business College.
On October 1956, Charlotte married her high school sweetheart Dick Hamlin. Together they moved to Providence, Rhode Island where Dick was serving in the Navy. Dick transferred to San Diego, California. After 3 years, they moved to Yakima with their 1-year-old son Jim. They then had twin girls Brenda and Glenda, Elaine and Scott were born 2 years apart. While raising children, Charlotte was a daycare provider. For several years she worked at Libby’s cannery.
Charlotte enjoyed sewing, all crafts, knitting, reading and gardening. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Family was most important to Charlotte.
She is preceded in death by her parents Rueben and Deva Liniger at (age 28), husband Dick Hamlin and son Scott Hamlin.
Charlotte is survived by her children Brenda, Glenda, Elaine and Jim, her grandchildren Jeremy, Karilyn, Alexander (AJ), Linsey, Colter, Zachary and Blake. She is also survived by her great grandsons Jett and Crew.
A visitation for Charlotte will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 4pm to 8pm at Keith and Keith Funeral Home, 902 W. Yakima Ave. Yakima, WA. 98902. The funeral service will occur January 19, 2024 at 12pm at Keith and Keith Funeral home. A graveside service will follow at West Hills Memorial Park. After the burial please come visit family and friends at West Valley Missionary Church 11107 Wide Hollow Rd.
The family would like to thank Charlotte’s caregivers Diana Gonzalez and Margaret Bradley for their loving care. Thank you to Cottage in the Meadow staff for their kindness and care of Charlotte.
