Aubrey Dale Patrick, 69, passed away peacefully at home on Nov 30, 2024, surrounded by his loving children after a short battle with Cancer. Aubrey was born Nov 21, 1955, in Waynesboro, Mississippi to James and Eunice (Martin) Patrick.
At a young age, Aubrey and family moved from Waynesboro, Mississippi to Crescent City, California. In 1969 they moved to Selah where he later married his High School sweetheart, Cheryl (Blackledge) Harris, in 1972. They had 2 children, a daughter, Jennifer, and son, Thomas.
Aubrey worked in his younger years with his father at the Tower Drive in where he gained experience in the movie theatre business. He went on to be the operator/manager for the Plaza Theater when they opened. With some management experience, he then started working at Tree Top as Manager on the night shift. From there, he made his way to Pacific Beach, WA, where Aubrey owned and operated the Seagate Restaurant and Lounge until he retired to travel and spend time with family and friends.
A special memory was with his kids, nieces, and nephews sledding in the mountains behind Aubrey’s pickup.This was a winter tradition that is still talked about with fondness.
Aubrey spent the last years between Pacific Beach and Yakima, as well as wintering in Okeechobee, FL and Waynesboro, Ms. He had a love for fishing, camping, traveling, bargain hunting, and entertaining at the beach with so many friends and family around him. He also loved music. Everywhere Aubrey went, he was listening to his favorites. Aubrey loved singing and playing his guitar.
Aubrey was preceded in death by his father, James Earl Patrick. He is survived by his mother Eunice Patrick, children Jennifer (Dan) Close, son Thomas Patrick. His Grandchildren are Tanner Bechard, Thomas Patrick, Kramier Patrick, Logan Patrick, and Kaly Kuhn. He is also survived by 8 Great Grandchildren, and sister Patty (Dan) Bowers, sister Rita Whiteside, brother Rocky Patrick, several nieces and nephews, as well as his many friends he made along the way. Brandy Hwande “was like a daughter” to Aubrey, and Ricky Day, his best friend since childhood, were especially close.
A Celebration of Life for Aubrey will be held later in the spring. A gathering with friends and family filled with stories, laughter, and food was his wish.
